Judgement Day-What The Heck Happened?

Its 6:28 PM EST, and I'm inclined to believe, those who quit their jobs, those who spent extra cash on groceries, gas and end of the world supplies are deeply upset and feeling foolish. Either Jesus is late (help up by heavenly traffic) or we all missed it. Look at this, if millions were raptured, there would have been a special news headline, perhaps something like this: <strong>MILLIONS ARE MISSING:</strong> Reports are coming in from all over the globe, million are missing.

Many have left jobs, separated from families, cleared out their savings only to be disappointed. Members of Family Radio in California, still follow their 89 year old founder, even when he predicted the same more than 10 years ago. Well, Its already Sunday in many parts of the world. I Guess if anything, God Is True To His Word..<strong>."No Man Knows The Day Or The Hour!"</strong>

Come Monday morning, many of those who quit their jobs, may find it difficult to find employment. Why? Their new prospective employer may ask, "Why Did You Leave Your Last Job?" I will post more later, until then dwell on this:  Psalms 118:9-10

Giving God A Loan

It was quite an experience taking my son the the Bus station in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.  People whom are less fortunate that those of us who drive to work and live in fine homes standout among the homeless or indigent population. As people walk across the street to avoid being asked for money, a man made his way over to my son and I and said..."Let me help a veteran, by carrying your bags".  Earlier, while looking for a parking spot, a lady mad her way over to my daughter and I, she informed us to wait a few more minutes, before feeding the parking meter, "its free after 7 pm" she stated.

When people spend their day asking for a few buck pr some spare change, I guess its easy to read who will help you and who despises your approach. While large churches, collect huge Sunday morning offerings and churches spring up only feet from one another, we still have the growing numbers of needy people and families among us. It doesn't matter to me, the reason why someone is asking for a few dollars. Although many could possibly spend the money on drugs, there are those who are hungry and they want to buy something to eat. When we judge someone and look down upon them because of their condition, remember, they were not born indigent. Somewhere in their life, maybe they did make bad choices, maybe they did squander their inheritance, but if you or we have excess, will it hurt to show some compassion or empathy to spare some change?

In the past, I was a member of a church in which I gave faithfully. While serving my country overseas, my wife needed some emergency funds to travel home on an emergency. The church deacon needed to form a meeting, to decide whether they were going to provide assistance to my wife, to go home to see her mother.  Organized religion (what we call the church) can be the place that gets and seldom gives. Many will pay for a guest speaker, who will fleece the flock of God and the church will scrutinize a family who genuinely need financial help.  If all church are going to do is build bigger warehouses, to store believers, I guess there will be more warehouses for believers to choose from.

According to the bible, when you give to the poor, you are lending to God. I like that because God is not low of blessings or slow in His ability to repay. Even if you do not believe in God, there is this thing called the Law Of Reciprocity. This Law can be summed up like this: ...Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". Or how about this..."as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them in like manner" Luke 6:31
So the next time someone needy asks you can you spare a few bucks or some change, look at it as giving God a loan! He will repay it.

Church - Fellowship 101

The word fellowship is a word one mainly hears within their religion or denomination. The only time perhaps you would hear this word outside of worship services is when other believers are together in one place and they use the word. For instance; "I really miss the fellowship of the saints" or "Fellowship services are held three nights a week."

What did it cost you?

How insulting one might feel upon knowing the gift that was given to you, cost the giver absolutely nothing. In these present time since many are materialistic, the receiver might not mind at all. How about in you worship unto God? Do we do the same thing to Him? When it comes to giving something unto God...What Did it cost you? Was it your excess? Did you give it because you had plenty to spare?

In you worship unto God, what did it cost you to open your mouth and say thank you?  Was your pride at stake?  Was your reputation on the line? There are many way to give, many things that can be given unto God in your worship to Him. What is He worth to you? Much? They why give Him something that cost you noting?

The preacher will ask each member for $20, for some that's fine, $100 for those making thousands with plenty to spare, that's noting for them, they will give from their excess and their is no reason to trust God when your storehouse and supplies are plentiful.  Seldom will church leader encourage people to give according to 2 Corinthians 9:7, you very well might exceed your meager 10%  (required by Mosaic Law)

A Change of Kingdoms.

According to Scripture, there are two kingdoms in operation here and now; the Kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. We were born into one kingdom (thanks to Adam) , the prophets foretold the coming kingdom of God and Jesus preached about it but how is the change made from one (kingdom of darkness)to the other(kingdom of light)?

Mar 1:14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, :15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Airline Prayer Scare - Is there ever a bad time to pray?

I can almost sense the many readers who believe in prayer, raising an eyebrow after reading the title of this article.  There is nothing harmful about prayer, nothing at all. But, what if the  act of exercising your religious ritual, caused a panic? Or, it raises concerns to those around you? Especially if your on an airplane? Although we have the right to speak freely, no one has the right to incite panic for the sake of their right to freely speak or pray openly...out loud.
